Benefits of Wellness Journaling

Summer 17’ will be official as of June 21, 2017.  If you were not one of the selected who worked for their summer body during the winter, please do not fret! It is never too late to create and maintain a health and wellness goal.  

Regardless if your goal is to lose weight or gain weight, keeping track of your activity using a wellness journal will help keep you accountable in tracking your progress. With a journal, it will reveal your positive and negative habits. Therefore you will be able to make the necessary changes to maintain a healthy and fit lifestyle.

Reasons to keep a wellness journal

Keeping an honest log of what you eat and how often you eat will help with food intake and watching your meals. Tracking how you feel after your meals and your workouts you will learn what foods don’t sit well with you and what workouts challenge you for the better or discourage you. Finally, when your doctor asks you about your diet you can provide an honest answer.

What to Record

  • Food intake
  • Water and beverage intake
  • Sleep
  • Exercise
  • Illness, allergies, or reactions
  • Pain or fatigue

There are many apps you can download to track your eating and exercise habits if you do not want to write in an actual journal.
